The Shepparton Technical Education Centre (TEC) continues to reap rewards for its students.
Alan Thomson, from Wanganui Secondary College, studied with the TEC during 2008 as a pre-apprentice and was offered an apprenticeship commencing in 2009 with Craig Bartlett Electrical.
Alan also won an Electrical/Plumbing VET Award which was presented at the annual VET awards, held at the GV Hotel in Shepparton recently.
Alan obtained the offer of an apprenticeship after completing work placement with the employer. Narelle Lowe, Employment Pathways Officer for the Shepparton TEC, said, "Alan understood work placement was an opportunity for him to show an employer what his work ethic and attitude were like."
"Alan was always motivated and keen to participate in work placement. He followed through on paperwork and appointments he was asked to make and demonstrated a real commitment to the process and a genuine desire to participate in work placement."
