Shepparton TEC

The Shepparton TEC is a result of a review of secondary provision in the Shepparton and surrounding districts (Nathalia, Numurkah and Cobram) by the Hume Region of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.

GOTAFE has established a Shepparton TEC at the William Orr Campus in Wanganui Road in 2008 to run intermediate and senior industry VCAL programs for Year 11 and 12 students to improve and expand the range of vocational education and training opportunities for young people.

GOTAFE offers the following industry focussed programs to Year 11 and Year 12 students. The William Orr Campus will provide access to industry standard and state-of-the-art equipment and resources.

Agriculture - leading to an agriculture traineeship
Horticulture - leading to an horticulture apprenticeship
Automotive - leading to an automotive apprenticeship
Building - leading to a building and construction apprenticeship
Cookery - leading to a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
Electrical - leading to an electrical apprenticeship
Engineering - leading to a fabrication and engineering apprenticeship
Furnishing - leading to a furniture making, Cabinet making and wood machining apprenticeship
Hairdressing - leading to a hairdressing apprenticeship
CISCO CCNA - leading to Certificate IV in Information Technology (Networking)
Plumbing - leading to a plumbing apprenticeship
Surveying - credits towards Certificate IV and Diploma of Civil Engineering

These industry focussed VCAL programs aim to provide vocational education and training pathways for young people making them "work ready" for immediate employment in regional industries and businesses.
