Wangaratta TEC
The Wangaratta TEC is an initiative of the Victorian Government, Goulburn Ovens Institute of TAFE (GOTAFE) and Wangaratta High School, and is the first of four TECs to be established in Victoria.
The Wangaratta TEC offers young people, 15-20 years of age, a high quality and full-time vocational education and training (VET) in an adult learning environment.
Opportunities include the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL), Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), both with a VET emphasis, school based apprenticeships and traineeships and non school-based traineeships and pre-apprenticeships.
TAFE Tasters
The Wangaratta TEC offers TAFE Tasters giving you a hands-on experience of the types of skills and knowledge required and the careers available in technical industries. Programs include:

- Engineering / Electrotechnology / Automotive
- Equine / Animal Science
- Business / Hospitality / Retail
- Graphic Design
- Jewellery Design
- Visual Art / Multimedia

The TEC offers VCAL/VET and VCE/VET courses in:

School Based Apprenticeships or Traineeships
You can commence a School Based Apprenticeship while you are still at school. School Based Apprenticeships enable you to gain a vocational and technical qualification combined with either VCAL or VCE.

The Wangaratta TEC is to be permanently located at GOTAFE - in the heart of Wangaratta’s educational precinct. The TEC opened in February 2007 in interim accommodation at the Vincent Road Campus of Wangaratta High School. Relocation to GOTAFE will occur in early 2009.
